last Hurrah - IPPUDO

Finally!! Every time I try to go to Ippudo I think, "Surely the wait can't be THAT long tonight. I can always grab a drink and wait it out." What?? 1 hour and 45 m in???? um, no thank you.

But I vowed to get there before my departure. So I lined up at 5PM for dinner. NO JOKE.

I have to admit this photo is a bit gross. But blame it on my iPhone camera that has no flash. The pork buns were eaten to fast to be photographed.

So good that I ate them all before I remembered that I wanted to take a pic. But here's another Clinton St. special: homemade raspberry jam.

Last Hurrah - SPRING ST LOUNGE

Sunday night....drank 4 rounds of scotch with Keifer. Two alcoholics keeping each other company.

He was telling me about how they procure buildings to blow up on 24. I contributed to the conversation by telling him about my imminent move to SF....it was kinda weird.

It's Simple. Just Flip a Coin.

I think that life would be a lot easier if we just flipped a coin every time a difficult decision needed to be made.

For example: Should I do my laundry:
a) today (heads)?
b) whenever I feel like it and that will certainly not be today (tails)?

It's simple, just flip a coin.

Or how about this one: Even though I think it might put me over the edge, should I....
a) have that extra glass of scotch (heads)?
b) perhaps have TWO extra glasses of scotch (tails)?

Again, it's as simple as flipping a coin.

Okay, so how about this one? Which city should I call my home in 2010....
a) New York (heads)?
b) San Francisco (tails)?

Simple. Just flip a coin, right?

So I did...............and it's tails. I even took a pic and procured a human witness just in case I was tempted to cheat (for which outcome, I don't even know). So, I'm looking at it again, and it definitely still looks like tails to me.

Hmmm...looks like I'm moving to SF. I'm ready to call it 100% (pending a successful lease break). Oh my....someone has got a BIG FAT SMILE on her face today!!

Disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer: Matt - I know I was supposed to keep this coin for good luck. But I think I might have spent it on a pack of Orbitz by accident. You think it still counts??

I've been agonizing over this decision for months. Was it really always just as simple as flipping a coin?

Little bundle of Joy

My friend Andy and Erin's daughter Brady is one bundle of pure joy. I mean, look at that smile. So pure. She's absolutely the most adorable little being I have ever met.

Anybody know where I can get me one of those?

Home....Finally!

It's nice to have a place to call home. A place that puts a smile on
your face and an extra bounce in your step.

Glad to be home.

Wanderings: Point Reyes

One of the most beautiful Saturday afternoon drives I've even been on. Okay, I wouldn't say that I have been on THAT many Saturday afternoon drives, but still. I can't believe you can get here just a few min north of the GGB.

For those that know what this means: I'm at 70%.

Wanderings: Golden Gate

I expected I would encounter lots of fog. I also expected it would be windy and cold. What I did not expect, on my trip out to the GGB, was to encounter some of the happiest dogs I have ever seen in my life.

I never made it to the bridge. Instead, I decided to kick back on the beach, listen to some good music on my iPhone, and watch these dogs have the time of their lives.

But I wasn't alone. As soon as I stretched out in the sand, this little fella came over to snuggle with me.

I think he just wanted a warm body that would block the wind. But I'm going to pretend it was true love.

So here are some shots of the happy dogs. If dogs could smile, they would definitely be smiling right about now.

Then this guy came over to say hello.

But not before performing one of those dreaded post-swim body shakes which resulted in salt water and mud all over me and my camera lens. Needless to say, there were no more pics of happy dogs after that encounter.

When the familiar is suddenly comical

Seeing guys get their shoes shined is not an unfamiliar sight to me.

However, this particular guy at this particular moment getting those particular shoes shined...all while the guy supposed to be shining the shoes is chatting away on his cell phone - made me chuckle out loud for quite some time.

Wanderings: Napa

Napa + good wine + old friends + perfect weather + labor day = GOOD TIMES

Too lazy to request an official photo op vehicle stop, I stuck my camera out of the window while we were driving on the highway, crossed my fingers, and fired off a few shots.

Sometimes I really impress myself.
