You can't force it. A good laugh has to come from within. But I do believe that you can learn to be receptive to laughter. To look for it within your friends, your environment, yourself.
I'm on a quest to understand this better. How to invite laughter into your life. This blog will be my exploration.
I am going to start with basics: the smile. Cause we all got to start somewhere.
to assume a facial expression indicating pleasure, favor, or amusement
Laugh (verb)
to express mirth, pleasure, derision, or nervousness with an audible, vocal expulsion of air from the lungs that can range from a loud burst of sound to a series of quiet chuckles and is usually accompanied by characteristic facial and bodily movements.

Research has even shown that smiles promote coping and individual resilience. Smiles are so much more than a physical act, but are embedded with deep emotional significance. Not all smiles are the same. Different kinds of smiles generate patterns of regional brain activity. When smiles occur involuntarily suggests that it is possible to generate deliberately some of the physiological change which occurs during spontaneous positive affect. Thus smiles can change a negative feeling into the positive. It does us all good to smile more so keep smiling!
